How do I calculate a percentage of a number?

Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 15% of 80,000 = 80,000 × 15 ÷ 100 = 12,000.

How do I work out a percentage increase?

Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, and multiply by 100. If a school's fee went from ₹60,000 to ₹66,000, that is (66,000 − 60,000) ÷ 60,000 × 100 = a 10% increase.

How do I convert marks to a percentage?

Divide the marks obtained by the maximum marks and multiply by 100. Scoring 18 out of 25 is 18 ÷ 25 × 100 = 72%.
