How we verify
What verified actually means here
Some sites hand every preschool a tidy “safety score” they cannot stand behind. We won't. This page says plainly what we check, what a badge does and does not promise, and the things you should still confirm yourself before you enrol a child.
What we check
What we actually confirm
When we verify a listing, we check it against public records and, where it exists, the brand's own centre list — whether the centre is real and where it says it is, not what happens inside the classroom. Most listings start as “compiled from public data” and haven't been through this yet; each listing says which.
- The centre's name, address and locality, checked against public map listings and, where a brand publishes one, its own centre directory.
- That the brand shown is the brand the centre belongs to, matched to the brand's official website or franchise list.
- The city and pincode the centre sits in, so it appears on the right area pages and not somewhere it isn't.
- Duplicate entries for the same centre are merged into one, so you don't see the same school three times.
On each listing
What each label means
Each listing shows which of these three checks it has had — a short label, nothing more. There is no score and no ranking hidden inside it.
The person who runs this centre has claimed the listing and confirmed its basic details. It is still their word, not an inspection.
Someone on our team has checked this centre's details against public records and the brand's own centre list. We confirmed it exists and belongs to the brand shown.
Built from public map and directory data, not yet confirmed by the owner or re-checked by hand. Treat the details as a starting point for your own calls.
Where we stop
What we deliberately don't claim
The honest list is as important as the checked one. These are claims we could make to look impressive, and won't.
No safety score
We do not rate a centre's safety out of 100, or out of any number. We have not inspected the premises, so a score would be invented. Anyone selling a single safety number is guessing.
No school or centre counts as a quality signal
We don't headline how many centres a brand has, or how many schools we list. A big network is not a measure of whether the centre near you is good.
No current fees, timings or ratios
Those change often and we can't see inside a classroom, so we never present them as confirmed. When a page shows them, treat them as a lead to verify, not a fact.
No paid rankings
A centre cannot pay us to rank higher. Order comes from relevance and how complete a listing is — with two exceptions we always disclose on the list itself: an admin can pin a few editor picks to the top, and we place one centre near the top of each list ourselves.
What to confirm on your visit
A badge can't tell you these, and they change over time. Ask about each one when you tour a centre.
- Fees. The full fee and what each line covers (admission, kit, meals, transport).
- Timings. Daily hours, the term calendar, and holiday and half-day rules.
- Teacher-to-child ratio. How many children one teacher actually looks after in your child's room.
- CCTV. Whether cameras cover the classrooms and play areas, and who can view them.
- Pickup and handover. Who is allowed to collect your child and how they are identified.
Our visit checklist and quality framework walk through all of this in detail.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What does "verified" mean on Preschools Club?
It means a real check happened. "Owner-verified" means the centre's owner claimed the listing and confirmed its details. "Verified by the team" means we checked the centre against public records and the brand's own centre list. It does not mean we inspected the premises or rated its safety.
Do you give preschools a safety score?
No. We deliberately do not publish a safety score out of 100 or any other number. We have not inspected the centres, so any such score would be made up. We'd rather tell you exactly what to check yourself than sell you a false sense of certainty.
What does "compiled from public listings" mean?
It means we built the entry from public map and directory data and have not yet had it confirmed by the owner or re-checked by hand. The basics are usually right, but treat the details as a starting point for your own calls.
Can a preschool pay to rank higher or get a badge?
No. No centre can pay to rank higher or to earn a badge. Ranking comes from relevance and how complete a listing is; we also pin a few editor picks and place one centre near the top of each list ourselves, and the list says so where we do. A badge reflects a real check, never a purchase.
What should I still confirm on a visit?
The things a listing can't promise and that change over time: fees and what they include, daily timings and term dates, the real teacher-to-child ratio in your child's room, CCTV coverage, and who is allowed to collect your child.
