Monsoon has hit and my nursery class of 18 hasn't been to the playground in a week. They're bouncing off the walls by 11am. What indoor activities do you use to burn energy without chaos? We have one medium-sized activity room shared between classes.

Animal movement circuits! Tape a path on the floor: hop like a frog to the window, crawl like a bear to the door, tiptoe like a mouse back. 15 minutes, they're happily exhausted, zero equipment.

We do 'freeze dance' with a twist, when the music stops they have to freeze as a statue of something (elephant, tree, aeroplane). The imagination part calms them down while the dancing burns energy.

Balloon volleyball over a rope tied between two chairs. One balloon per 4-5 kids. Just keep the balloons away from the little ones who still put things in their mouths.
